DID YOU KNOW? The Dallas area is one of the top U.S. markets for rent home construction, according to a new survey by Yardi Systems Inc. Dallas ranks fifth in the country with more than 550 rental houses under construction. Houston is the second-busiest rent home building market with more than 1,000 rental homes under construction.

DID YOU KNOW? Houses with private boat docks, bulkheads, sea walls and lifts are in high demand as Americans buy pleasure craft in record numbers in an effort to social distance and stay healthy in the great outdoors. Boat sales reached a 13-year high in 2020, up 12% from the year before, according to the Chicago-based National Marine Manufacturers Assn. More than 310,000 power boats were sold in the U.S. last year. (WSJ)

DID YOU KNOW? Home prices continue to increase, but real estate experts think we are seeing a slowdown in the increase. The market is still hot, but instead of 20 offers on a new listing, it is now five offers. Further, we are seeing a slight improvement in inventory. Part of the slowdown may be because of school starting in less than a month, which is always a factor. (Dallas Morning News)

The current median home-sale price in DFW is $355,000, which is up 21.4% year-over-year and the highest price recorded for the area. Through the first six months of 2021, North Texas real estate agents have sold 55,129 single-family homes — a 7% gain in sales from the same period last year. Sales continued to increase in June in Dallas and Collin counties but were lower than a year ago in Denton, Ellis, Kaufman, Rockwall and Tarrant counties.

1.5 oz Casa Dragones Blanco
.75 oz Grand-Marnier Louis-Alexandre
.75 oz Lime Juice
.5 oz Champagne Syrup

Combine all ingredients in a shaker tin and shake until tin is chilled (10 to 15 seconds). Rim one third of a martini glass with a golden black lava sea salt for dramatic effect. Double strain into a martini glass and serve immediately.
